The band quickly made a name for themselves in the Seattle music scene. After only playing six shows with a full lineup, they played Seattle's famous Showbox Theater, only to then sell out The Triple Door for their debut EP release show.

The Cloves debut EP, Waiting For The World To Be, was very well received by radio stations and critics alike. The Seattle Post-Intelligencer wrote, "Vocal harmonies define the Cloves' sound. Layers on layers of them appear on this debut EP, sweet and expertly put together." Local radio stations 103.7 KMTT The Mountain and 90.3 KEXP, also quickly took notice of The Cloves. The Mountain honored the band by naming them Local Access Artist for the month of June 2005, featuring them live in the Mountain Music Lounge. KEXP's John Richards highlighted Waiting For The World To Be on the stations Top 10 Northwest releases.

L-R: Kevin Poleskie, Michael Hochstatter

The nucleus of the band, Michael Hochstatter (vocals, guitar) and Kevin Poleskie (vocals, bass), come from a town by the name of Sumner, just 30 miles outside Seattle. Hochstatter and Poleskie spent their childhood together, growing up on the same street and began writing songs together while in high school. Shortly there after the two formed the band.

What People Are Saying:
"Vocal harmonies define the Cloves' sound. Layers on layers of them appear on this debut EP, sweet and expertly put together, like a Dilettante Cafe chocolate torte. The music harks back to the 1960s or early 1970s -- think the Beach Boys' quieter moments." - Seattle Post-Intelligencer

"Coming out of Seattle, USA... these are no grunge-kids. The Cloves come from the same mold as The Byrds and Teenage Fanclub to give you some classic songwriting with tunes that make summer great."- creation-records.com

"The Cloves have a knack for soaring sounds, perfect compliments for beautiful summer days" - Shawn Stewart (KMTT 103.7FM The Mountain Music Director)
